The Event Center

The Event Center is the largest room in the house and the one that changes its face most often. In a single week it may hold a four-hundred-seat gala, a two-day conference and a wedding that runs, as the best ones do, slightly over time. The room absorbs all of it without raising its voice.

Beneath a nine-metre ceiling, staging, light and sound are built into the architecture rather than wheeled in front of it. Full blackout, broadcast-grade connectivity and a service corridor that lets two hundred covers arrive warm and together — the machinery is considerable, and invisible.
